My D.I.Y version for those of you on a budget, or if you’re looking for an acai bowl option that’s lower in sugar and higher in protein.
So if you follow my blog/insta-feed, you’ll know that I’m kind of acai-obsessed…
This purple bowl just makes me so happy!! It’s the little things, right? And while I’d lurve to treat myself everyday to this photogenic breakkie in this heat (though this is nothing on HK), too many acai bowls out starts to add up in the $$ department. So, I’ve been making my own acai in my Nutri Bullet during the week, and getting acai as a weekend treat.
I use the unsweetened frozen acai sachets (Amazonia brand) which you should find at most health food stores/boutique grocers. I bought a 4-pack for $9, which in terms of health food is pretty good – seeing that the average acai bowl costs between $12 and $15 (or sometimes more – hello Bondi!).
