1. Inside Out Almond Milk
I had an almond milk latte made with this at Sprout Wholefoods a few weeks ago and I’ve been hooked since. I’ve even been taking it to my local coffee shop to have my coffees made with.
The unsweetened variety contains nothing but filtered water, almonds and salt, and isn’t watery, bitter or full of thickeners and preservatives like so many shelf stable almond milks. Also, cold pressed almond milks tend to go off three days after they’re produced, but Inside Out has a shelf life of several weeks and keeps for five days once opened, so I haven’t ended up wasting half the bottle.
2. Wallaby’s SUPERFOODIE Cappuccino Cacao Slice
…Tastes even better than it sounds. And is there any combo better than chocolate and coffee?! Full of almond pieces too for some crunch. Also the perfect snack-size and not too energy dense; Most fruit and nut bars have around 800 kJ, but this Wallaby one has only 480 kJ.
3. Lindt 90% Dark Chocolate
I’ve transitioned from milk chocolate, to 70% cacao to 85% over the years, so I had to test this one 😉 This stuff is strong! It really gives you a cocoa hit, is super low in sugar, and unlike the less concentrated varieties, you can stop at one piece.
4. TONICKA Kombucha
Kombucha (kom-boo-cha) is the most hippie thing I’ve ever tried. If you’re new to kombucha, it’s a fizzy, fermented probiotic beverage made from tea and raw sugar, which feeds off a special mushroom called a ‘scoby’. Don’t knock it till you try it; Kombucha can be really delicious and refreshing. Some brews are too sweet or too bitter, but Tonicka’s has just the right balance of flavours; It tastes a bit like cider and is a nice alternative (or chaser!) to my afternoon coffee for a pick-me-up.
5. MAYVER’S Peanut Cacao Spread
If you’re following my blog or instagram, you’ll know that I LOVE my nut butter…I always seem to walk out the supermarket/health food store with a new one to try, even if there’s already a handful of nut butter jars in my pantry 😉 Anyway, this Mayver’s Peanut Cacao Spread is awesome…You’ll love it if you’re a fan of all things peanut butter and dark chocolate. And because there’s nothing in this but roasted peanuts and cacao, it’s healthy enough to have with your breakfast 😀
